The rise of fascism in the 1930s led to the outbreak of the Second World War, a conflict that would reshape the world. For King George VI and his family, this was a time not only to survive but to lead their nation through its darkest hour. Ascending to the throne unexpectedly, George VI, along with Queen Elizabeth (the Queen Mother), became symbols of strength and unity. Their daughters, Princess Elizabeth and Princess Margaret, also played their parts during the war, with Elizabeth joining the Auxiliary Territorial Service and Margaret supporting her parents. Through their commitment to duty, the royal family worked tirelessly to ensure the survival and longevity of their people.
