On August 31st, 1997, Princess Diana, the world’s most photographed woman, entered a black Mercedes sedan at the Ritz Hotel in Paris. Along with her partner, Dodi Al Fayed, and their bodyguard, Diana was pursued by paparazzi through the streets of Paris. The chase ended tragically when the car crashed in the Pont de l'Alma tunnel, leaving Diana fatally injured. Throughout her life, Diana had been followed by the media, and the paparazzi’s relentless pursuit of her was well known.
