Prince Charles and Princess Diana were once seen as the epitome of royal romance, but their marriage quickly descended into turmoil. The couple’s 1981 wedding was a global spectacle, but behind closed doors, their differences were impossible to reconcile. Charles, much older than Diana and still emotionally connected to Camilla Parker Bowles, struggled with the expectations of royal duty, while Diana faced intense media scrutiny and personal insecurities. Despite efforts to salvage their marriage, their relationship deteriorated, marked by infidelity and emotional neglect. In 1992, they separated, and their divorce was finalized in 1996. Their story raised the painful question: Why couldn’t they just make it work?
